Two routes to becoming an SI
- SSC CPO — recruits Sub-Inspectors for Delhi Police and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like BSF, CISF, CRPF. Conducted by the SSC.
- State Police Recruitment — each state recruits SIs through its own police recruitment board.
